Well the first 2 days I thought were great because they didn’t really take that long, even though I did find it hard to assess myself. However, day 3 and day 4 have proven to be real mind working days.

Day 3 started off quite slow for me, this is the ideas day, and as I’m not a very creative person I find it really hard to come up with ideas. Our aim for today was to get ourselves 100 ideas - I wont go into where or how we were told to research these ideas as I can’t give away too much of the ins and outs of the program. When I first watched the video for the day I thought it sounded like it would be quite easy, but then when I started doing the research I found it wasn’t as easy as it sounded.

I got off to a really slow start and it took me forever just to get my first 16 ideas, I didn’t think I’d ever get 100. Then I took a big break and came back and started again, I slowly made my way up to 46 ideas and then it got easier. Kevin did say that we had to ‘exercise our brains’ and that when we do they will start working and start ticking over the ideas, and I must say that he was right. Once I got going with it, it did get easier and the last 50 or so ideas came to me quite easily.

Day 4 - once again sounded quite easy and in actual fact was a bit easier than coming up with the ideas yesterday. However, it is a big task and has taken me quite some time to complete. Today is research, research, research and writing it all down. I’m sure over the next few days it will all tie together and start making sense what we are going to do with all this information we are gathering.

It is certainly taking a different approach to any product creation that I have done previously so it will be very interesting to see te final results. I really love this membership and daily task method too, its great seeing how everyone else is going as we all go in and post how we have done for the day.

Well, I haven’t quite finished my task for today, so I better get back to work.

You know I’m doing very well creating websites and selling them but I have decided anyway to join a course that is being run on the Warrior forum by Kevin Riley called ‘Product Creation Lab’. Thankfully I just got signed up at the last minute before they closed the doors on this one.

This course is a series of videos, with which we receive a new one each day. So far I have done the first 2 days and am sitting here anxiously awaiting the 3rd days video to be listed. The idea of a course like this really appealled to me because of the fact that we are given new information each day, giving us enough information to absorb and work with but not too much to confuse us and wonder where to start.

Everyone will be going along at the same pace and as long as I still to the tasks each day then this shouldn’t fail. I’m guessing I will probably know a lot of what will be taught but I know there are areas that I still need a lot of help with so I am very sure I will get a lot out of this course. In fact our second task was to just assess ourselves and write down our strengths and talents, you know that’s not that easy when you actually do it, especially for someone like me who is not creative at all. I learn quickly which is great and once I know how to do things I’m good at them, but coming up with ideas for what to do on my own, I am absolutely hopeless. So as long as someone tells me what to do, then I’m good. So coming up with natural talents wasn’t that easy when things don’t tend to come naturally to me.

Anyway, I just wanted to write about this course and thought I’d keep an update going of how I go throughout the course and hopefully will be able to come in and post about the great results I get at the end of it.

Adsense is great, but it’s not everything and there are other very effective ways to make money online.  Even if you are looking for something that works in a similar way to Adsense, there are other options that are just as good if not even better than Adsense.

 

Affiliate marketing is one very popular way to earn money online and some people will create their entire website around one or several affiliate products.  This is one option that is available for you to make money online with.

 

Even if you are just looking for something to place in the sidebar on your website, you can still look at affiliate marketing.  There are thousands of affiliate products available for you to promote and I’m sure you wouldn’t have any problem finding one to suit the topic of your site.  Many of these companies will supply banners for you to use to advertise their product.  So, whether your site relates to Internet Marketing or Natural Health, whatever the niche, I’m sure you’ll find an affiliate product to suit your site.

 

The other option that you can use on your website is the other pay per click programs such as Bidvertiser or Adbrite.  These are both programs that work in a similar way to Google Adsense in that they pay you every time a visitor clicks on one of their ads on your site. So if Google doesn’t suit you, then perhaps one of these programs might.

 

Or if you have your own product that you can promote, then why not promote that on your site.  You can create your own text ads or even banner ads with a simple graphics program.  Why send your visitors to someone else’s site when you can direct them to your own product.

 

These are just a couple of the options available that are as good, some even better than Adsense.

 

 

Creating an Adsense website isn’t too difficult, after all you just create the website, get the plain old Adsense code and shove it on your site right? Wrong!  The Adsense color that you use on your ads can actually make a big difference to how many clicks your ads will get.  That’s right, something as simple as changing the color can make the world of difference to your income.

 

The default color of Adsense ads is a white background, blue heading, black text and green url. 

 

So if you use those default colors on your website, do you know what that means?  That means that if someone like me, comes along and visits your websites, I am going to take one look at those ads and know instantly that they are Google ads.  And guess what???  I’m probably not going to click on them.

 

In fact, many of your visitors wont click on them, because the default Google Adsense colours make your ad stand out as being an ad and people don’t like that.

 

Now, if my website had a blue background, for example, why would I want to put an ad on there with a white background.  That ad would just stand out and hit you in the face as being an ad. Instead, I would find the hex number for the blue background color that I have on my website, and when I set up my Adsense ads, I would put that hex number in for the background and border color.

 

Now my Adsense ads have the same background color as the rest of my site and they blend in nicely.  I’m not going to stop there though, I’m also going to get the hex number for the color that I have my titles on my website and I am going to make my Adsense titles the same color.

 

I may even change the url color from green to the standard blue link color.

 

My ads would blend so well with the rest of my site that there will me many more clicks as my visitors wont even notice that they are Google Adsense ads.

 

I have a number of websites online and I have played around with the colors to see whether it makes a difference or not and trust me, by blending your Adsense color with the rest of your site, your Adsense income will increase.

Google Adsense is quite a good way to make some money online but not everyone can or wants to use Google.  If you are one of those people, then we might have the answer for you here with these Adsense Alternatives.

 

Here are just a few that you could use instead of Google Adsense.

 

1. Other Pay Per Click advertising companies such as Bidvertiser and Adbrite.  Both of these programs work in a similar way to Google Adsense in that you place the ads on your website and then you get paid every time that someone clicks on one of the ads.  So if you’re after something that still pays for each click, then these to programs could be your answer.
   
   
2. Banner Ads.  There are thousands of affiliate programs out there and I’m sure there is one to suit your niche.  So why not promote some affiliate products and use their banner ads on your site.  Many affiliate product owners now supply banners for you to use.
   
   
3. Create your own text ads.  Why not combine the look of text ads with the effectiveness of promoting affiliate products. You can easily create your own text ads and have them direct your visitors to an affiliate product that you are promoting.  Sell a few of those affiliate products and you will start to see a nice little income coming in.
   
   
4. Scribefire Ads.  Scribefire give you a code to place on your site and then the ads that display on your site rotate between different advertising companies.  These ads work on a pay per click basis also and can bring you a nice income.

 

So whatever the reason that you cannot or don’t want to use Google Adsense, there are a number of options available to you as an Adsense Alternative.

 

Why not play around with all of the above suggestions until you find what works best for you.  Remember, regardless of what sort of advertising you put on your site, you still need to optimize your site correctly and drive traffic to your site if you want to make a good income.

Many people just think of having Google Adsense ads on your website a way to make an extra little bit of money, but in actual fact if you learn how to use Adsense correctly, you can have a booming Adsense Business that can earn you a full time income.

 

Sure if you are earning money by other means and only want to use Adsense for an extra income, that’s fine, but if you’d like to have a profitable Adsense Business then you need to do your homework and make sure you do it right.

 

Here are a few tips on making a good income with Adsense.

 

1. Be prepared to spend the time at the beginning to take all the necessary steps to fully optimize your website.  By getting it right, right from the start, it will save you a lot of time later on trying to work out what you did wrong and why you aren’t making enough money.
   
   
2. Learn from the experts.  Get a good Adsense guide and make sure that you do every step that it suggests.  Don’t try and cut corners as usually all you end up doing is cutting back that pay check that you could be getting.
   
   
3. Optimize your site correctly.  This means you need the right colors, the right ad sizes, the right ad placements and the right content on your site.
   
   
4. Optimize your site for the search engines and learn the effective ways to drive traffic to your site. There is no point optimizing your site with the right colors, content, etc. if there is no traffic coming to your site.

 

Adsense looks like it would be very easy to earn money with, just shove a few ads on your site and sit back and wait for the check right?  Wrong!  It’s not quite as easy as that, and my no means do I want to deter you from Adsense by saying that, it’s not hard, but there is a bit more to it than just shoving some ads on your site.

 

The key to success with anything online is to get yourself a good guide and follow the steps exactly.  Don’t think that you are smarter than the guide and think that you don’t need some steps, that you can do it without them.  There is a reason why some people succeed and some people fail.  Don’t be one of the failures, learn from those that have succeeded.
